[Academic] Hard Encasement, Soft Expanse

An imagined space shaped by a blend of 'hard' and 'soft'—expanding bubbles serve as inflatable structures that are framed, constrained, and defined by solid, pre-built elements on site.

I propose a romantic transformation of these spaces: by day, they appear as modest, unremarkable environments—ordinary parts of the neighbourhood shaped by legal regulations. But on selected days, they suddenly transform into exciting, unexpected venues.

Much like graffiti artists, fans approach the site unpredictably—carrying out their planned activities secretly and efficiently, then disappearing without a trace before drawing too much attention. This imagined scenario shares a similar spirit with the recent rise of flash mob culture—ephemeral, spontaneous, and quietly subversive.

As the final proposal of the Rebuilding Fandom project, these three drawings were designed to be the main attraction displayed at the booth. Each one is shaped in the format of a movie poster, packed with as much information as possible—including plans, elevations, site layouts, applied regulation strategies, and in some cases, instructional diagrams for on-site construction.
