Wings of the South is a base-building game concept set in a distant future where global warming has melted most of Antarctica and humanity has gone extinct.
In this post-human world, penguins have evolved intelligence to survive among the drifting ice and scattered remnants of human civilization. Using abandoned research outposts as a foundation, they transform these ruins into flying transportation hubs, powered by leftover oil found in old fuel tanks. Equipped with mechanical wings and mini rocket backpacks, penguins travel across the frozen landscape, forming a new civilization built on adaptation and ingenuity.
From a god-view perspective, players help penguins expand and manage these aerial bases, collect resources, and construct habitats that support long-distance travel. Each elevation of the structure represents a different user scenario:
– a chef penguin running a small fish bar for travelers,
– passengers enjoying a final meal before departure,
– penguins preparing for takeoff,
– newly arrived travelers,
– and even the occasional failed landing.
